Donna Spurgeon

Staff team member Donna Spurgeon

Donna grew up near the base of the Stirling Ranges and has been farming in the Central Wheatbelt since 1990. She moved to the wheatbelt in 1986 as a graduate teacher where she has spent the last 34 years in the WA Education Department in a several different roles. Donna has a firm understanding of the rural context and a genuine passion for the educational, social, emotional and financial development of rural people. She is proud to be part of the local community and keen to work in partnership with others to continue to promote and progress country communities.

As a wife, a mother of three, a proud Nana of one and business partner to the family farming enterprise she has seen many highs and lows within the agriculture profession. While Donna’s children were young she had a hands-on approach to the family business, in between teaching. Donna has a Diploma in Teaching, an interest in rural and remote mental health and wellbeing and is currently studying the Diploma of Financial Counselling.
